Interesting Spaces – for artists, crafters and creatives of all types

Interesting Spaces is a market/event space located at Interesting Things in the heart of Kensington Market.

We invite independent vendors of all types to sell their arts, crafts and handcrafted creations at our pop-up market events. Our covered outdoor space is also suitable for your own small-scale markets and events.

Interesting Spaces generally opens for markets on weekends, with special interest events hosted on select dates throughout the week. Our 2026 Market Season runs from May 1 through October 31, 2026.

Offering a supportive host space for your products and events to shine.

We provide a hands-on, service-oriented experience designed to welcome both seasoned vendors and those new to the maker community. Markets and events will be announced and promoted via our social media as the season progresses. We also provide planning and logistical support when hosting your special events.

Be part of a Kensington Market community tradition.

Each year we participate in Kensington Market’s monthly Pedestrian Sundays from May through October, on which the streets of the neighbourhood are closed to vehicles for a street festival on the last Sunday of the month (starting at 1pm). On Pedestrian Sundays, special additional vendor spaces outside the traditional Interesting Spaces venue will be offered. These spaces will be designated according to Pedestrian Sundays guidelines.

Need a venue for your next special event? Interesting Spaces is available to rent for shows, receptions, meetings, classes, workshops, or whatever it is you have planned.

Interesting Things / Interesting Spaces is located at 173 Baldwin Street in Toronto's lively Kensington Market, nestled between Chinatown and Little Italy, easily accessible by foot and public transit.

Event setup typically begins at 11am for an opening/start time of 12pm, with break-down beginning at 7pm. Vendors are welcome to stay past 7pm if the market remains busy with customers.

Metered street parking is available on our block and nearby in the surrounding neighbourhood (with the exception of Pedestrian Sundays, on which Kensington Market is closed to cars for the majority of the day).

The Interesting Spaces venue is a 460-square foot back patio space attached to Interesting Things, semi-enclosed with a large acrylic cover to protect from the elements. It can comfortably fit 10 5-foot tables, and we sell in 5-foot and 2.5-foot (shared) units. This allows for markets of 10-20 vendors.

Attendees generally enter and exit through the storefront. When weather permits, Interesting Spaces can also be accessed through the laneway off of Kensington Avenue, just south of Baldwin Street.

Set-up times generally begin at 11am, with break-down starting at 7pm (vendors are welcome to stay past 7pm if the market remains busy with customers). A representative of Interesting Spaces remains on-site throughout the event and makes regular check-ins with vendors to make sure everything is running smoothly.

Table(s) measuring 5' x 2' (with option to share, see below)
1 chair provided per table
Free wifi available
Access to clean, private washroom
Access to fridge, microwave, kettle
Complimentary coffee and water
Electrical outlets are available indoors with limited availability outdoors

Additional Information:

Tables are offered at 5-foot and 2.5-foot (shared) units
Those who rent a 5-foot table may partner with someone else, provided that both vendors are approved beforehand
Prices:
- 5-foot table: $110 + HST per day
- 2.5-foot (shared) table: $65 + HST per day

Separate from vendor tables, Interesting Spaces is also available to rent for independently-run Vendor Markets. Please fill out our basic contact form to inquire. Independently-run Vendor Market applications should be submitted at least one month in advance of requested dates.
